Being androgynous

I’m always amused when people get confused about my gender. It really happens to me, more often that I would like to admit… and god knows how many times I’ve been called a ‘sir’ in my life. But hey, I do make a good looking boy, yes?

Wondering

My dog, Whitey, died the other day.

I always wonder where the dead go. Does heaven even exist? Or do they just linger around us? A part of me wishes they just linger around because it’s comforting to know that they are still near you even if they are not physically there.

Yes, I’m still alive. Sorry for the lack of blog posts as I’m not really really in the blogging mood lately.

Inspiration | Period Films

I love watching period films because I just can’t stop drooling looking at the costumes. I mean, there are just so many details and the level of craftmanship is really superb.

The last period film that I watched was Marie Antoinette and it blew my mind away. No, it wasn’t because of the story or the actors (but I do love Kirsten!), it was because of the costumes and the set design! I was always looking forward for the next costume and drool over the wonderful colours and patterns.

I think period films play a big part in influencing my personal style. Everytime I open my closet, I ask myself: “What character would I be today?” In my own world I could be anything that I want; I could be a court messenger, an assassin, a scholar or even a fairy! The trick is to play the role and you would own the outfit in an instant.

Believe me, that’s really my secret!

I leave you with this drool worthy trailer of Public Enemies! Can’t wait to watch it with my friend Michee of SundryFashionFusion.

Obsession Du Jour: Annie Hall

I just watched Annie Hall again and I remember why I love her so much! If you haven’t watched the movie, this is the perfect time to watch it. Her personality and style is just wonderful! I love how she can pull off the androgynous look and still manage to maintain femininity, which is something that I can never really do.

Sometimes I wonder if people mistake me for a guy… not that it has never happened to me before! But bah!! Nothing will stop me for loving the androgynous look!

I think the older I get, the more I see myself becoming like Annie. I wish! Oh well… la dee da!
