For a lack of a better word, let’s just say I’m excited! The blob that is once a collection of my random ideas are now taking into a little bit of shape. Been trying to make myself busy with different projects and everyday has been a learning experience for me. Could you believe that I am always excited to get out of bed just to continue my sewing projects? Hahaha.
And as a gift for you my lovely readers, (No give aways here. I’m unemployed, remember? So just a little bit of eye candy for you) here’s a sneak peek of what I have been busy about lately.
For Filipinos, Lola (pronounced as lo-la) means grandmother. That is why I thought it really fits the feel that I want for my clothes. If you don’t know yet, and if it is not really obvious, I really do love vintage. I just feel that vintage stuff have interesting stories behind it.
Lola Vintage are redesigned vintage clothing by yours truly. This is inspired by my frustration over so many vintage clothes that has so much potential but there is just something wrong and people end up ignoring it. Let’s face it, some of the silhouettes used before are better left in it’s right era.
Sorry for the lack of a before pic, I didn’t know I would end up blogging about this one. Anyway, in it’s past life, this used to be a simple A-line skirt. I made it way shorter but just enough so you could also wear it as a high-waisted skirt and not have a peepshow of some sort while maybe picking up something from the floor. I also added the pockets just because pockets are always a nice addition to any garment. Lastly, I believe little details do make a difference so I added on gold buttons on the front. Lovely eh? I’m so inlove with gold buttons recently.
Seriously, I do love this one and I am very excited for my next sewing projects for the first ever collection for Lola.Vintage. So wish me luck! If anyone is wondering, I am still doing my sewing by hand. My sewing machine is stull busted. But hey, I think my handsewing skills are getting better and I might have a future in houte couture, don’t you think? Hahaha!

I’m into sewing too. I just don’t have time and ideas. 
I made some bags last year and sold it, i wasn’t able to make a new set of bags until now.
